The WM Phoenix Open calls itself "The People's Open" for a reason. It's the best-attended event on the PGA TOUR, part golf tournament and part week-long Scottsdale party, with the loudest hole in golf right in the middle of it. The 2027 tournament runs February 11–14 at TPC Scottsdale. Here's how the week works, what to bring, and how to get there and back without spending half your day in a parking lot.
When Is the WM Phoenix Open in 2027?
The four tournament rounds are Thursday, February 11 through Sunday, February 14, 2027, on the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale. The whole week is busy, though. Based on the official schedule:
| Date | What's happening |
|---|---|
| Saturday, February 6 | Concert in the Coliseum |
| Monday–Tuesday, February 8–9 | Free general admission (Ford Free Days) |
| Wednesday, February 10 | Annexus Pro-Am |
| Thursday–Sunday, February 11–14 | Rounds 1–4 of the WM Phoenix Open |
Friday and Saturday are the biggest crowds of the week. If you want the golf without the elbow-to-elbow party, Thursday and Sunday are calmer. Saturday is Green Out Saturday, when fans wear green to support the tournament's charity fund.
Where Is TPC Scottsdale?
TPC Scottsdale's Stadium Course is in North Scottsdale at 17020 N. Hayden Road, just north of Loop 101 and across Princess Drive from the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. It's roughly 25–35 minutes from Sky Harbor without traffic, and about 20 minutes from Old Town Scottsdale.
During tournament week, though, you can't just drive to the course. General parking is off-site, and the exits closest to the course are reserved, which is why the parking section below matters.
Tickets and Gate Times
For reference, 2026 general admission was free on Monday and Tuesday, $75 on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and $125 on Friday and Saturday, plus fees, with hospitality packages costing more. Check the official site for 2027 pricing. General admission tickets are AXS mobile tickets.
Gates open early: in 2026, the Main and Princess entrances opened at 7 am and the Hayden entrance at 7:15 am every day. On Friday and Saturday, the Hayden entrance doesn't open until everyone at the Main entrance has been let in.
The 16th Hole and the Birds Nest
The 16th hole is a par 3 surrounded by grandstands and skyboxes, the closest thing golf has to a stadium. When a player hits the green, the place erupts. When they miss, you'll hear that too. On Friday and Saturday, fans line up hours before the gates open and then race to grab a seat, so if the 16th is the goal, arrive early and use the Main entrance.
The Coors Light Birds Nest is the tournament's concert tent, with headliners at night during tournament week. Birds Nest tickets are sold separately from golf tickets, and the late-night crowd is exactly the crowd that shouldn't be driving home.
WM Phoenix Open Parking
Here's how parking worked in 2026. The tournament posts the 2027 parking plan closer to the event, and lots and routes can change, so check the official spectator page before you go.
- Lots A, B and C (WestWorld): public lots open every day of tournament week. Exit Loop 101 at Princess Boulevard or Bell Road.
- Lot SRF (Salt River Fields at Talking Stick): open Wednesday through Sunday, 9 am to 6 pm, about 7.6 miles south of the course, with a free shuttle to the tournament. Northbound drivers exit Loop 101 at McDonald Drive. Drivers from the south exit at Pima Road and 90th Street.
- Don't exit at Scottsdale Road or Hayden Road for general parking. Those exits are reserved for ADA access and credentialed passes.
On a Friday or Saturday, the realistic version looks like this: sit in Loop 101 traffic, park, wait for a shuttle, ride to the gate, and do it all again in reverse at the end of the day with tens of thousands of other fans.
Rideshare and Drop-Off: Lot R
Uber, Lyft, taxis, private cars and anyone being dropped off use Lot R, accessed from Pima Road. The tournament asks that all drop-off and pickup happen there, not in the public parking lots. Drop-off in the morning is quick. Pickup at the end of the day is where the waits and surge pricing hit hardest.
WM Phoenix Open Bag Policy
- Opaque bags (backpacks, purses, camera bags, chair bags) can be no bigger than 6" x 6" x 6".
- Clear bags (plastic, vinyl or other clear totes) can be no bigger than 12" x 6" x 12".
The full prohibited-items list follows PGA TOUR rules, so check it before you pack anything unusual.
What to Wear to the Phoenix Open
February in Scottsdale is usually beautiful but changeable: cool mornings, sunny afternoons in the 60s and 70s, and a chill once the sun drops. Wear layers you can shed, comfortable walking shoes (you'll cover miles on grass and dirt paths), sunscreen, and a hat. Plan on green for Saturday. Whatever doesn't fit in a 6" x 6" x 6" bag stays home.
Getting to the Phoenix Open Without the Lots
The smartest way to do the Open is to skip parking entirely. Our golf outing transportation picks your group up at your resort, home or Sky Harbor, drops you at Lot R, and is waiting there when you're ready to leave, whether that's after the last putt on 18 or after the Birds Nest headliner.
It's built for how people actually do this week:
- Friend groups and bachelor parties: an Executive Sprinter for up to 14, or a mini party bus for 20–40
- Corporate hospitality: skybox and club guests moved from the hotel to the course and back, with one coordinator and one invoice through our corporate and event logistics
- Couples and small groups: a black SUV for the day, from anywhere in Scottsdale or the Valley
Where to Stay for the WM Phoenix Open
The closest hotel is the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, across Princess Drive from the course, and it books up early for tournament week. Hotels near TPC Scottsdale in North Scottsdale and along the Scottsdale Road corridor fill next. Plenty of visitors stay in Old Town Scottsdale for the nightlife and ride up to the course each day, which works well when someone else is driving.
